That time of year is quickly coming upon us. What I need from you all now is to know whether you plan on playing this spring. Just shoot me a quick email with your response.
As an FYI,
The season is going to start either April 16th or 23rd for a few teams playing the first weekday games or the 26th for the first weekend games. I will know more when we get closer to the start of the season. It looks like we will have 2 weekday games and 6 Saturday games. The season will wrap up around the 3rd or 4th week of June depending on rain outs.
Also, jersey’s….I know there were quite a few floating around from people who left the team prior to the season. I want to make sure we all are aware who has jerseys who might not be playing. If you know of someone who has jerseys who is not playing we need them back, so please get in touch with them. I know Dean was lending his out for the fall as was a couple others.
On the subject of Insurance, the rate is going to increase this year to $25. The good thing is, those of you who paid insurance in the fall last year (which was all of you who registered), you DO NOT have to pay insurance until the spring of 2009!
Unregistered players, we had an issue with this last fall and it will stop going forward. Due to a hefty fine increase to $100 per infraction, I will now require any person who is going to play be registered and have sent me either a email confirmation from Active.com or a printed confirmation prior to the first game. If this is not recieved prior to the first games that player will not play until it is provided. I will NOT take a verbal confirmation. Those who do not register and play anyway will be asked to leave the team immediately.
2 new rule changes- Fan .vs. Player areas. Going forward any person whether it be family or friends who come to watch you play are required to sit on the opposite side of the field as the players. This is a league rule change based on some issues that were prevalent last year. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Due to our affiliation with ISA, we are now required to have a 3 man referee system (1 center and 2 linesmen). I am not sure what this is going to do for cost but I will know more after our meeting on the 16th.
